China Glaze - Flip Flop Fantasy

I know fall is quickly approaching, but I cannot return to this blog without paying homage to the neon that was on my fingers and toes for the majority of the summer.

Flip Flop fantasy is obnoxiously bright. The first time I put it on I hated it because I simply was not used to my fingertips glowing. After the initial shock wore off, I found I kept returning to this polish because of how loud it is.

The intensity of this color drives cameras insane, but I managed to capture it's essence in this instagram collage. The formula is not wonderful, but most neons aren't. It also chips pretty easily. All is forgiven though, since there seems to be no other quite like it.

Color Club - Candy Cane

This color was part of the Beyond the Mistletoe Collection, an awesome set of uber glittery polishes. Candy Cane is predominantly a pink glitter with some blue, silver, and purple mixed in. It's super shiny and very pretty.

Nicole by OPI - Love Your Life

I know, April is no time for cutesy V-Day manis, but I do not have the restraint to hold on to these photos for another 10 months. Love Your Life is simply pink hearts and holo glitter in a clear base, which makes it awesome for layering. I fished out and placed the hearts using the brush, but you will have an easier time with a toothpick. Here it is over black:

Color Club - Peppermint Twist

Just spent a wonderful weekend with family, including my 5 year old cousin Maria. We had matching manicures all weekend! (For Audrey looked absolutely adorable on her, unfortunately I managed to lose the photo I snapped).  Here we are with Color Club - Peppermint Twist and a watermelon design on our ring fingers. I used Sinful - Rise and Shine and a black sharpie for the design (the sharpie worked surprisingly well). Look how cute!

Ulta - Baby Doll

Decided to change things up with a pale polish. Baby Doll is a really soft pink. Looks awesome with a tan.

Formula was nice, but needed 3 coats for full coverage.

Essie - Bermuda Shorts Half Moon Mani

So I had on Orly - Gogo for about 24 hours and decided to dress it up with some fuchsia tips. The tips looked odd so I turned it into a makeshift half moon manicure. It's not perfect, but I love it.

Blurry mirror photo! Crazy tie dyed tshirt!

Milani Liquid Metal for Summer (?)

Polish friends, I did something today that is probably a huge no no. I tried on polish in a drugstore (without buying). You see, I am currently starting week 2 of a 2 month no buy and I could not stay away from these colors. I mean, I had to make sure they were not worth purchasing, ya know?

The display that inspired my devious behavior was Milani's new Liquid Metal for Summer Collection. I might be making that name up. My mind was too distracted by metallic micro glitter to get a proper photo of the display, and the name of this collection is completely cut off. I think I remember seeing Liquid Metal so I'm just going to go with that.

Here are my quick and messy skittle swatches.
Pinky: Metal Gear (one coat) - a yellow/gold metallic.
Ring: Melt Down (one coat, probably not color accurate) - red metallic
Middle: Molten Rock - shimmery metallic teal
Index: Hot Metal - pink/purple jelly with pink and blue microglitter. This one is way more pink in person, but the microglitter gives it that bluish purple flash you see in the photo.

Ok people. I inherited a very stumpy thumb from my father. I really wanted to keep it off the internet, but I used it to swatch an awesome color so I have no choice but to feature it in this next photo. I'm sorry. This is Melt With You - orange metallic with gold microglitter. This one only one coat, I'm sure it's better with two. I don't really own anything like it so I might have to go back and purchase.

Molten Rock instantly reminded me of Zoya Charla. It's definitely in the same family, but the glitter is a lot finer so the finish is smooth and less glitzy. Charla also has a green duochrome effect. I really like them both, though part of me leans towards Molten Rock cause Charla is almost *too* sparkly for my fingers. They are different enough where owning both is extremely justifiable. Here is a quick side by side:

Color Club - Warhol

Neon pink! Actually this looks a lot more pink in the bottle, it leans slightly red on my nails. Don't have much to say about this. It's fun! It's bright! It's not terribly unique but I don't have anything like it so I'll keep it! Oh and the formula is awesome. Color Club is slowly becoming one of my favorite brands.

Artificial light photo, looks slightly more pink. And yes, this is a crappy webcam photo but it was the only thing indoors that was close to color accurate:

China Glaze - Admire

This purchase was inspired for my love for Metallic Muse. Sadly, I don't think it's that flattering on my skin tone. It's a really pretty light pink/silver - it is MUCH more pink/almost lavender in daylight. You only need one coat, no topcoat, and it dries super duper fast.

Hello! + China Glaze Pink Voltage

So I finally decided to start a NOTD blog. I cannot promise you perfect pictures (or perfect nails for that matter), but I can promise frequent updates and keeping things as color accurate as possible. I have tons of photos of past manis that I may or may not post (they are mostly taken with my phone camera, I am going to start getting in the habit of using a regular camera for better quality). I usually change my polish anywhere from 3-5x a week (sometimes 7, eep!), so I should hopefully be posting rather frequently.

To start things off, my current mani -  China Glaze Pink Voltage:

I love this color! The formula was rather sheer, I used 4 coats and there was still some visible nail line; however it went on really smooth and does not feel like I'm wearing 4 coats at all.  For me, this is the perfect bright summer pink.
